folder list
Beyond this point, these options only apply to the Professional Edition
of MailMan. The Standard Edition does not store users' messages and does not
write files of any kind to the web server that it is installed on, so it cannot
offer the features described beyond this point. The reason for the rule against
writing files is because system administration is extremely simple with the
Standard Edition. Once you set up the Standard Edition, it's set up, there is
nothing else to do. You never need to worry about whether it is writing too
many files to your hard drive because it just doesn't write files of any kind.
If you are using the Professional Edition, however, then
your users will have a few more options. One of them is
organizing the messages that they have downloaded into folders.
This is what the folder listing looks like in the out-of-the-box
interface templates that come with MailMan. You can easily
customize this to look like pretty much anything that you
like. Your users have three standard system folders by default,
"INBOX", "SENT" and "TRASH".
They can also create and delete additional user folders.
Mail stored in user folders is subject to MailMan's quota
system, which allows you to specify the maximum size that
any user's message folders are allowed to consume. Once
the user has gone over quota MailMan will present the user
with a warning that they have gone over quota and that no
new messages can be downloaded from the POP3 server until
they free up some space.
